The reconstruction of busy RC Marg in Chembur, Mumbai, which was supposed to begin after the monsoon, is unlikely to begin until next year.
 
 The construction work was supposed to begin with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) completing the foundation for its Metro rail project. However, that is not likely to happen as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will take at least five months to complete the works of laying its water pipelines.
 
 Informing members of the standing committee about the same, Chief Engineer of the BMC’s Hydraulic Engineering Department Ramesh Bambale said that the pipelines laid by MMRDA have grown old and need to be changed. The work is being carried out for some months, but due to monsoon, the work will resume from October. It will be carried out over a period of two months, Bambale said.
 
 Both the agencies are yet to zero in on who will carry out the road construction work. The actual road building activities, for which residents have been insisting for long, can be commenced only after the pipeline works are completed.
