Responding to the mounting public demand, the Kochi Corporation has given its approval to widen Vaduthala-Pachalam Road in the city. Due to narrowness of the road, accidents were frequently taking place. The Vaduthala area residents associations had submitted petition to the civic body recently and suggestion to widen the road.
The road will be widened from Vaduthala Railway Gate to Pachalam Junction. Kochi Mayor Tony Chammany announced that the widening will benefit the people coming to the city from Vaduthala.
The area MLA Hibi Eden has expressed willingness to allot Rs 5 lakh for the road widening work, he added.
