In the next five years, the Bihar government is to invest Rs 28,000 crore on revamping the power sector in the state. Out of this amount, to revamp the power sector in Bihar, the State government has planned to spend Rs 10,000 crore.
The State is to replace its obsolete power infrastructure. The government has planned to connect every village in the state with electricity in the next couple of years. Bihar Power Minister Vijayendra Yadav said that the government's first priority is to connect every village with electricity by 2015.
The government's goal is to completely replace the old obsolete infrastructure with a new and modern one, he added.
Power generation will also be improved with the amount mentioned.
