A four-day exhibition of real estate market opened at the Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai on October 17. The property show has been organised by the Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI), a member of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India.
MCHI said that due inordinate delays of government permissions to housing projects, home prices are going up by 40 per cent. Ultimately, the loser is the flat/home purchaser, the MCHI said. Hence MCHI asked the Maharashtra government to ensure building approvals within 60 days as mandated by a 2012 civic circular.
More than 120 participants are exhibiting their properties in the expo. The expor offers options in affordable housing, second and luxury residences, investment and financial opportunities, and commercial or retail property.
