Two main roads-Bannerghatta road and Goods Shed Road in Bangalore are going to be widened. The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has taken up work on the two roads on a priority basis and has hastened land acquisition process for the purpose.    BBMP, which had planned to widen seven important roads in the city, has now restricted to only the two roads mentioned due to paucity of funds. While Bannerghatta road leads to the Bannerghatta zoo park, the Goods Shed road starts Cottonpet Circle near the city railway station in Majestic area and traverses via Binnypete, Akkipet.    So far, the BBMP has identified 405 properties for acquisition on Bannerghatta Road for the road widening. Sources in BBMP indicated that BBMP may approach the State government for funds to widen Bannerghatta Road. In addition, the BBMP will scout for financing agencies which can lend money for the project.
