The seminar was hosted by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). Apart from housing for Low Income Groups (LIG) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), a few civic bodies were also planning homes for Middle Income Groups (MIG), said the officials urban development department.
Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Guruprasad Mohapatra claimed that AMC was planning to build 3,000 additional houses for LIG and 7,000 houses for EWS in the coming years. In a press release, he also claimed that AMC would undertake housing for the MIG category.
