For qualitative work and faster completion of Haritha Housing project of the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (Vuda) the engineers concerned should regularly supervise the construction work, said the Vuda Vice-Chairman N Yuvaraj. He said the project has already been delayed. He also asked the engineers to maintain quality and standards as assured to the allottees of the project.    

With the delay in completion of the project leading to a decline in confidence among allottees, engineers should play a vital role in regaining the reputation of the organisation, said Yuvaraj. The engineers were asked to coordinate and monitor the construction works with the contractors, enabling them to complete the work before time.    

Construction works of the project were given to contractors in the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC)mode to complete the construction of all the 710 apartments at the same time. During his visit, the Vuda VC also inspected works in each block and checked the quality of material. He directed the contractors to procure material in advance as per the requirement and engage additional labourers to finish the works as per schedule or even before the given time if possible.    

Yuvaraj further told the engineers and contractors that he would review the progress of works regularly, apart from personally inspecting them on the ground.
