Tata's 28.8 mw solar plant to come up in Satara

In Maharashtra's Satara district, Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) is developing one of its largest photovoltaic based solar power plants with an installed capacity of 28.8 mw. The plant is to come up in 130 acres. TPREL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of theTata Power Company.    The latest state of the art technology in photovoltaic based solar generation will be utilised for the plant. Tata Power-Distribution, the distribution arm of Tata Power, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for 25 years in order to purchase power from this solar plant, thereby meeting its solar renewable purchase obligations.    The Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission (MSETCL) will transmit the power generated from the plant through its network, the Tata company said.
