Cement price goes up over Rs 235/bag in AP

Cement price goes up over Rs 235/bag in AP

In Andhra Pradesh, cement prices have been increased again. This time the price of the building material has gone up by Rs 20-25 a bag. The retail price/bag which was in the range of Rs 210-220 last month is now hovering in the range of Rs 235-245.

Media reports say that the slowly improving demand coming from the real estate/housing projects, higher power charges and increased railway freight are among the factors behind the price rise, say industry sources.

Despite the hike, cement prices in Andhra Pradesh still remain the lowest in the country, according to industry sources. While the price band in Hyderabad and surrounding districts is Rs 230-240, it is crossing Rs 250 in coastal Andhra Pradesh and ranges between Rs 260-270 in the Rayalseema region.
