Madhya Pradesh’s Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur informed that the state government would soon receive Rs 500 crore from the central government under the first phase of JNNURM.
It is learnt that the amount would also meet the financing requirement of the pending projects of the Urban Administration & Department Department.
The state government agreed to submit detailed project reports (DPRs) of 25 projects under JNNURM to the central government within a week so that these funds can be released before the end of March 2013 and state government’s various schemes get early benefit.
These 25 projects are part of the about 60 JNNURM projects, the DPRs for which need to be sent to the central government.
These include mainly the Rs 121 crore BRTS project of Bhopal, Upper Lake Left Front Development Scheme, Kolar drinking water scheme, Rewa’s sewer scheme, establishment of National Governance and Training Institute, Bhopal and grant for Simhastha 2016.
Gaur said this after holding a meeting with the Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath. During the meeting, the minister assured Gaur about the Union Government’s cooperation. State’s Principal Secretary Urban Administration and Development SPS Parihar and senior officers of the Union Urban Development Department were present on the occasion.
